About the show
GABRIEL is a powerful work, unforgettably performed by the artists of the Victorian State Ballet. Using the vocabulary of contemporary dance, classical ballet and Martin Sierra's unique neo expressionist style, GABRIEL explores the nature of this fascinating historical and biblical figure.
There are times when we have experienced sadness, anxiety or great loneliness. A friendly gesture and words of encouragement can help us to move on. GABRIEL is the voice which helps us to share what is good within us. Directors & choreographers Martin & Michelle Sierra, together with the artists of the Victorian State Ballet, embrace a choreography rich with emotion, virtue, sensibility, history, intrigue and challenge.
Spoken in a language of a highly based ballet skill, fluid pas de deux work, expressionism and a fusion of contemporary dance disciplines. The Victorian State Ballet’s performance of GABRIEL is an innovative work produced especially for the Adelaide Fringe Festival. A must see!
